WELCOME TO THE STUDIO Beginner Centering + Small Bowl

In the first lesson, you will learn how to center clay on the pottery wheel from a seasoned potter and teacher. I have also included a small, flared bowl lesson to follow along with once you have successfully centered your piece of clay.

Centering clay is very much a feeling, which is why so many teachers struggle to explain it to their students. I have a proven method of description that has helped so many of my students move beyond their plateaus, so if you are struggling to wrap your head around consistent centering you should give my method a try.

I will share my take on the mechanics of centering clay on the wheel, using descriptive language and frame-by-frame analysis for you to stop and start as you like, as many times as you like.
